A new home for the writing

After a decade on WordPress, I have rebuilt this site from scratch — and here is why.

For the better part of a decade, this domain ran on WordPress. It served me well — until it didn't. Themes broke. Plugins fell out of date. Page speed crept up. The act of writing started to feel like maintenance.

So I retired it.

What you are reading sits on a much simpler foundation: a static site, content in plain Markdown files, deployed automatically every time I push to git. No database. No admin login. No surface area for the kind of low-grade rot that makes an old WordPress install slowly stop being yours.

What stays the same

I will write here when I have something I genuinely want to write. That has always been the rate-limiting factor — not the platform.

What changes

Two decades into a career in this industry, I think more carefully now about what is worth publishing. Less how-to. More what-I-think. If you are looking for the old tutorials, most of them aged out of relevance years ago and I do not plan to bring them across.
